Aerospace industry which is one of the highly advanced technology industry to lead 21 century, is very important business for assuring national competitiveness. Domestic aerospace industry has developed into high value added industry over just technology import and simple production stage. According to this, Korea has valued as a country which has high potential of aerospace industry development in near future.
On this, Korea Robot Aircraft
Competition under the auspices of Korean Ministry of Commerce Industry
and Energy(MOCIE), has held to boost technical innovation of Korean
aerospace industry and to face technical development status and various
demands since 2002. The 2nd Korea Robot Aircraft Competition was held
on October 3, 2003 and 3rd held on September 19, 2004 and 4th held on
October 2nd at Hankuk Aviation University. As additional events along with the competition, UAV and -related items was exhibited and UAV demo flight was performed. In addition, radio-controlled airplanes performed a wonderful acrobatic flight and civil UAV development feasibility study seminar was held.
The Korea Robot Aircraft Competition which is co-organized by KAIA(Korea Aerospace Industries Association) and The Korea Society for Aeronautical & Space Sciences contributed to make Korea strong provider for UAV market. Although current competition is qualified for only Korean teams, we hope it will develop into international competition that foreign national can also participate in near future and sincerely welcome foreigner's visit to the competition.
